Faith Promise is...
- Giving the Lord an opportunity to work in our lives to bring
about greater support of missionaries.
- Saying, "In dependence on God I will endeavor to give
$_________ (specific amount).
- Scriptural in focus: Its target is the church's God-given
task to make disciples of all nations.
- A Scriptural means of encouraging weekly, disciplined,
consistent giving for world evangelization.
- An extra gift which you would not be able to give apart from
trusting God to provide it.
According to what Paul teaches us in 2
Corinthians 8 and 9, a Faith Promise is an amount:
- more than one can afford (8:2-4)
- that follows personal commitment (8:5)
- that is optional, but is a test of love (8:8)
- previously promised (9:5)
- personally purposed (9:7)
- that you can give cheerfully (9:7)
- provided by God (9:8)
Belmont Baptist Faith Promise World Missions Fund is the primary
financial means by which our church leads people into a growing
relationship with Jesus Christ around the world. It is provided by
your special gifts, over and above the general church budget. Your
tithe should go in Belmont's Tithes and Offerings envelope and your
Faith Promise gift should go in Belmont's Special Designated
Offerings under the Faith Promise - World Missions category. Any
checks made out to Belmont Baptist Church and designated "World
Missions" placed in the offering will be applied to the Faith
Promise Fund.
Belmont supports over 60 missionaries representing over 200
people around the world. These missionaries live by faith that a
portion of their salary will be provided by your Faith Promise
gifts.
The World Missions Ministry would like to challenge you to become
a sender of others by being a regular giver. For those that filled
out a Faith Promise commitment card last February during our World
Missions Conference, we thank you who have made a faithful
commitment. We pray that others of you will recommit or begin today
to trust God to provide you with Faith Promise gifts.
